The Sky has become the fourth biggest ISP in the UK, as it has managed to reach the 2.5 million broadband subscriber mark. The company announced that Sky has more than 2.5 million UK broadband customers now.
BT reached five million broadband subscriber marks, while Virgin Media has 4.18 million subscribers and TalkTalk has 4.15 million, which makes it the fourth largest ISP in the UK.
The company witnessed a jump of 101,000 broadband customers in the last quarter. The company revealed that its broadband and telephony businesses didn't quite break even.
Though, the bulk of its broadband customers are on 'triple-play' packages. They not only take the broadband service but also take telephone and TV products from the company too.
The results of Virgin Media for the first quarter of 2010 were announced by the company this week, mentioning that it had signed up more than 57,000 customers on its 50Mbps package.
Orange, which is UK’s fifth biggest ISP, has recently announced that it had been giving control of its unbundled ADSL2+ network to BT.
