Rosetta Stone Inc. Fails to Emerge Victorious in Law Suit Against GoogleThe foreign language education company Rosetta Stone Inc. revealed on Thursday, that it had lost a court case against Google Inc. for permitting competitors for to advertize copycat software, when Rosetta trademarks are employed in search terms.

The company expressed its disappointment at loosing. The suit had been dismissed by the U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

The company revealed that this decision will allow Google to garner consumer confusion, by permitting imitation products sold by using it trademarks.

It has been reported that Rosetta Stone Inc. revealed that Google is in the know that counterfeit software is being advertised by employing the company’s AdWords system. Google, however, has not taken any steps to stop the activity.

The company also declared that it will take into consideration undertaking an appeal to review the court’s decision.

However Google has a different story to tell. Google's senior litigation counsel, Adam Barea states, "Users searching on Google benefit from being able to choose from a variety of competing advertisers and we found no evidence that legitimate use of trademarks as keyword triggers or in the text of advertisements confuses consumers".
