It has been revealed that Motorola Inc. that it had made an unprecedented profit in the first quarter of this year. This follows owing to good sales of its new phones, which outshone the numbers projected by the company itself.
The outlook of the company was also much brighter that Wall Street projected and therefore its share also saw an increase on Thursday.
Despite these optimistic figures, the company has lost its position as the biggest maker of phones in the U. S. It has lost the battle to Apple Inc.
According to the statistics, Motorola sold a total of 8.5 million phones in the first quarter, while Apple marketed 8.8 million iPhones. Four years ago, when the Moto Razor was still popular, Motorola had managed to sell 46.1 million phones.
