The consumer group Choice has rated the Virgin Blue as the nation’s best domestic carrier for the second year. Tiger has been rated as the worst domestic carrier.
It has been reported that Virgin was given top scores by more than 11,000 Choice members for its service, entertainment and comfort.
The domestic carrier also performed well with respect to its frequent flyer program, check-in process, punctuality and fares.
The spokesperson for Choice Zinn revealed, "The very strong feedback was that all those smiling staff and the spiel and little gags they go through, does seem to help. And they deliver in terms of departures and everything else and, of course, price".
The second place was bagged by the regional carrier Rex. Rex also took the highest ranking for in flight service. Most respondents commended its traditional and personalized services.
Qantas gained the third place. It was praised for good pricing. However, it was seen to be only a trifle better than Jetstar and Tiger.
Choice evinced that its members were discontent with the attitude of the flight attendants and also noticed that the staff was partial towards gold and platinum frequent flyers.
