The country’s Chief Medical Officer has given surety to parents of the kids, who received the seasonal flu vaccination, stating that they are safe.
Nevertheless, the halt on the vaccination on kids below the age of five continues to be at its place.
Professor Jim Bishop stated that additional time was desirable, in order to comprehend why young kids had been experiencing unpleasant reactions to the vaccinations.
He said that laboratory testing is continuing its examination process of the stated problems encountered, but, is going to take some extra time to complete and give a final recommendation on the same.
The Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing has made arrangements for testing of the vaccination but, up to now, no oddities have been seen.
Professor Bishop stated that 57 cases of fever and convulsions had been reported in Western Australia, six cases in Victoria, four cases each in NSW and Queensland, two cases in South Australia and one each in Tasmania and the ACT.
Professor Bishop said that parents of any kid, who had been administered the seasonal flu vaccination in the recent times, no matter they experienced fever or not, should not be worried, because they are safe.
