It has been reported by the Strathcona RCMP that they have unveiled a major drug-trafficking operation. This discovery follows after the arrest of five people and seizure of nearly 20 kilograms of marijuana.
The arrests were also accompanied by searches of a rural home in Lamont County, a business in south Edmonton and three vehicles.
The search led to the discovery of a largest quantity of marijuana, nearly 15 kilograms, which was found in the vehicles. The search also yielded $70,000 in cash.
Besides this the investigators also found two kilograms of marijuana, 2.2 kilograms of magic mushrooms, two handguns, a crossbow and $2,000 in cash.
It has been reported that the search of the Edmonton business also led to the discovery of two kilograms of marijuana, one kilogram of hash and a small quantity magic mushrooms.
The people who have been arrested are; Connie Marie Myshak, 51, of Lamont; Barry Edward Babyn, 50, of Lamont; Kenneth Joseph Bouvier, 54, of Edmonton, Perry Wesley Harris, 51, of Kelowna, B. C and Joseph Alan Thompson, 25, of Burnaby, B. C.;
