The sleek, new, Android-based Verizon color scheme handset, the HTC Droid Incredible - which hit the stores Thursday - has a notably ‘industrial’ basic design feel, wonderfully complemented by hard lines and edges throughout a large part of the device.
Though the internals of the newly-released Incredible are pretty similar to those of the Google Nexus One and the European version of the HTC Desire, still it boasts some noteworthy tweaks, like the expansion of internal flash memory capacity from 512 MB to 8GB, and the addition of the much-awaited HTC Sense user interface.
The other striking features of the HTC Droid Incredible – priced at $199.99 for new or renewing Verizon customers - include an ARM-based, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor; a 3.7-inch touch screen with 480 by 800 pixels resolution; 512MB RAM; built-in “tethering” capability; an 8-megapixel camera; FM radio; and a user-replaceable battery that can reportedly last almost 6 hours on a call even with its GPS, Bluetooth, and WiFi wireless options all enabled.
Almost as thin as Apple's iPhone 3GS, the Incredible apparently is one of the fastest, most responsive smartphones available in the market at present – even with multiple applications open, the device can amazingly zip from screen to screen without bogging down or pausing.
