In a recent announcement, Nintendo said that, from May 9 onwrads, it is upgrading its Wii sales pack with new incentives, including a copy of the Wii Sports Resort game and a MotionPlus controller.
While the Sports Resort essentially features athletic competitions – like basketball, archery, golf, bowling, cycling, and sword fighting; the MotionPlus controller lends increased accuracy and control to the Wii game play – it is not just compatible with Sports Resort, but also works with a few other games, including Electronics Arts’ Tiger Woods PGA Tour and Grand Slam Tennis.
Apparently, the Nintendo move of introducing the new MotionPlus in its Wii package largely comes in the wake of the forthcoming motion-sensing products by its key rivals – the Sony ‘Move’, and the Microsoft ‘Natal.’
The company specified that though the price-tag of the new Wii package, with the Sport Resort and MotionPlus snap-on, will remain unchanged at $199; the Sports Resort and MotionPlus bundle can also be purchased separately for $49.99.
In addition, expanding its line of cosmetically-kaleidoscopic hardware, Nintendo also revealed that it is introducing a new black-finish version of its $199-priced Wii console - with the black version to be bundled with black controllers. Each Wii package - the conventional white one as well as the new black one - will still also include the Wii remote control, a Nunchuk controller, and the Wii Sports title.
