Telecom Investigates Text Message Glitch

Telecom Investigates Text Message GlitchTelecom is reported to be in investigation over a text message fault following reports from mobile users that some messages are being scrambled in transmission.

So, telecom customers are being asked to keep a check that their text messages are not being affected with before they get to the recipients.

Newtown Salvation Army church leader Steve Molen is posted to be the first one to come with the problem with his phone last week, discovering the glitch when he sent a text to ten people to remind them of an upcoming dinner.

He explained that he wrote the message, ending on a light-hearted post of 'bring a date or your mama but would prefer it if you brought a youth and plenty of food.'

But, the text received by his wife, had the last sentence completely altered to "bring a date or your muma but would prefer it if you bought me she setting a bad example for me".

"The call centre worker said it was a software fault that adds lines to the last part of people's texts... and there had even been swear words added on to some messages," Molen quoted.

He further uncovered that he called Telecom describing it about the fault the next day and was told it had occurred before, with some people even discovering swear words being added onto the end of their texts.
