A security organization, which gave answer leaflets to workers finishing taxpayer-subsidized study, is under examination by a training organization and the Qualifications Authority.
At first, Allied Security refused issuing answer booklets to workers, but verified it after demands from the Electro Technology Industry Training Organization that was informed of the violation by The Dominion Post.
Auckland Security Guard, Lydia Maoate said that she was told that, if she did not finish the NZQA training, she might be sacked, and was then provided answer booklets. If she passed, her salary would not increase.
She said that Allied Security that has over 500 staff countrywide had signed a new bond with a client, which stated that all guards had level 2 training.
Security companies get grants from the Government-financed organization for starting in-house training that amounts to around $10 for each credit passed. The training covers various facets of the work like industry knowledge, pertinent law, communication skills, safety threats and safety.
Allied Security carried out its own investigation and guaranteed the training organization that the breach was isolated, but organization Leader, Michael Frampton said that it would look into the matter on its own.
He said, "Frankly, it is an unacceptable practice, so our decision has been that despite the results of their inquiry . . . . we must satisfy ourselves that the problem is contained".
