Telecom Corp. Looking for Partners for Business

Telecom Corp. Looking for Partners for BusinessIt has been reported that on Friday, Telecom Corp. of New Zealand Ltd. (TEL. NZ) said that it is seeking to look for a cohort for its international wholesale voice industry or either sell off the business.

According to Telecom, it has divided its worldwide division into information and voice units and is taking into consideration a variety of choices for the voice unit.

Global Communication Services is provided by the international division with both data and voice to other Telecom industry units and more than 100 consumers from all over the world in North America, Europe and Asia.

Dow Jones Newswires was told by Telecom Chief Executive, Paul Reynolds that the voice industry, which has earnings before interest, reduction, taxes and paying off, or Ebitda, of roughly NZ$20 million, would profit from being sold or amalgamated with some of the better players in the business, since the market is merging.

Paul Reynolds, stated, "Telecom NZ is a relatively small player (in the international voice business), I think potential buyers are spread far and wide around the world and it's one reason we are signaling it strongly".

According to Reynolds, the data unit would be preserved as the future is evidently data. He released assumption that Rogers Communications (RCI. A. T) from Canada was concerned in acquiring the worldwide splitting up.

Ernst & Young has been appointed by telecom as an autonomous consultant for the procedure.
