Datacom Wins Company of the Year Award

Datacom Wins Company of the Year AwardIn a keenly contested award ceremony Datacom edged others to win the Company of the Year Award during the annual New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards held in Auckland last night. The company employs more than 300 people across the globe and has its presence in New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia. The revenue generated by the technology company is more than $600 million.

Datacom also finished among the top 60 companies in New Zealand based on metrics like revenue, number of people employed and profit generated in 2009. The judges of this function include Michael Dell, founder of global computer giant Dell and Dell's Vice President of global marketing, Andy Lark.

Datacom was praised for understanding the needs of its customers and delivering sound solutions. Its offshore presence also came in for a lot of praise by the judges. It was also observed that the company was the biggest company in New Zealand in its domain and also had a significant revenue and profit model.

Steve Newman headed EROAD won the award for both the Innovative Service Product Award and the Innovative Hardware Award for its modernization of the road user charges system.

In the two new award categories, Microsoft emerged as the Employer of Choice and Compac Sorting Equipment won the Exporter Award.

Anu Shrestha from Vodafone took away The Young Achiever Award.
