BP is revealed to make its re-attempt to contain oil gushing in the Gulf of Mexico, this time with a significantly small funnel than it used before, as the massive slick has jittered the Louisiana shores.
President Barack Obama has pledged to continue with its pressure on BP to "aggressively" pursue solutions to stem the massive leak, the White House posted.
Lawmakers are speculated to question oil industry giant BP, which operated the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig 40 miles off the Louisiana coast, for its drilling plans initiated, according to which there is very less risk that such a disastrous pipeline rupture would ever take place.
BP now targets to deploy a small "top hat" dome over the leak following its attempts over the weekend to shield it with a huge metal box was hindered by accumulation of crystallized gas hydrates.
It is reported that concerns over an extended environmental and economic calamity for the Gulf coast are soaring following the BP setback, which contracted the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig that exploded on April 20, engulfing
11 people and triggering the spill.
Hydrates, especially methane gas, blocked the dome top, preventing crude from being pumped.
