It has been forwarded by the police that the death of a man, whose body was found at a Christchurch house on Thursday night, occurred due to stab wounds and other injuries.
In concern to the murder of Timothy Constable, three men have appeared in court and they could face more serious charges when they return to court on Tuesday.
Today, the police said that a homicide investigation was continuing, with scene-of crime-examinations and questioning of witnesses.
It was last night that a post mortem examination of Mr Constable was completed.
The police said: "The deceased had stab wounds and other injuries which contributed to his death."
It was on Thursday - when the police were called after a reported fight - that Mr. Constable was found dead at a house in Todd Avenue, Bishopdale.
Yesterday saw Levi Michael James Coombs, 17, unemployed, Steven Wayne Bright, 25, and Adam Robert Gempton, 20, unemployed, appearing in Christchurch District Court charged with assaulting Mr Constable.
All the three, out of which Coombs and Bright are on bail and Gempton in custody, were ordered to reappear on Tuesday.
