On the night of Friday at 9.40 pm, a man threatened the staff at the Whitecross Medical Centre in Avondale, with a metal bar and asked for money. Now, the police officials are looking for witnesses to validate the incident.
The culprit, according to the police, was a European, between 5' 10" and 6' 1" in height and a slim built. He had light ginger/blond eye lashes, and possibly spoke with a Scottish/Irish accent.
The man, who was dressed in dark clothing and was wearing a black balaclava, fled from the centre following the robbery, and drove off in a vehicle heading towards New Lynn.
Police has said that whoever, who witnessed the robbery, or who may have seen a male fitting the description, or a vehicle speeding along Great North Road towards New Lynn, should contact them.
