According to a new video posted on YouTube, the Vietnamese site which recently unveiled details of an iPhone 4G prototype has now reported about a forthcoming MacBook update, likely to be released as early as Tuesday.
The MacBook update will apparently be powered by a new 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor – marking an enhancement over the present 2.26GHz chip; and will reportedly also boast a GPU upgrade to the NVIDIA GeForce
320M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 RAM, which will be an updated version from the Nvidia 9400M graphics silicon.
While the model number of the upgraded MacBook – likely to be priced at $199 - will still seemingly remain A1342, thereby indicating the minor nature of this upgrade; nonetheless, it will mark a welcome refresh to the MacBook line.
In case the reports are accurate, the new MacBook update will feature the same processors that have become a part of the 13-inch aluminum MacBook Pro which was updated in April. The MacBook Pro also got a marginally faster 2.66GHz Intel processor.
In fact, it is possible that Apple might upgrade the 13-inch MacBook Pro model to an Intel Core i3 processor, spruced up with a new interior this fall; in an attempt to keep a wee bit more demarcation in the 13-inch Apple laptop segment.
