Taxation Bill Passed by the Parliament

Taxation Bill Passed by the ParliamentSubsequent to a final attack by the Labor Party, Parliament has passed a law giving outcome to the budget's tax restructuring.

The discussion on the Taxation (Budget Measures) Bill started yesterday under pressure and concluded just before 4pm today with a vote of 67-51 on its third analysis.

Revenue Minister, Peter Dunne told Parliament that it was the most drastic reformation of the tax structure since the 1980s.

It would help generate a more unbiased and coherent tax system and was devised to reinforce expansion and back output and investment.

Peter said, "This legislation will give people greater incentives to work, to save and to invest. It makes our tax system fairer, more coherent and with better integrity".

Labor's Finance Spokesman, David Cunliffe, said that it was a budget of busted vows.

He said that the Government had pledged not to increase GST, it had assured to make everybody richer, and it had guaranteed to defend vanguard services, and all those pledges had been fake.

He said, "When the rosy glow of Beehive spin wears off, New Zealanders will know they've been swindled".

Mr. Cunliffe said that price rise at 6%, an end result of the tax cuts, would eliminate any profits for all those apart from the affluent.
