Porn magnate and New Plymouth RSA clubrooms owner Steve Crow has been banned from directing any Company until April 16, 2014.
The Ministry of Economic Development served the ban on Mr. Crow last week under a section of the Companies Act designed to protect the public from directors with a history of failed businesses and the ban had been prompted by two companies he liquidated in 2009.
"Certainly I made some mistakes, but the decision to liquidate two of our trading Companies and restructure our operations to slash expenses cost my fellow shareholders and hundreds of thousands of dollars and was not made lightly," Mr. Crow said.
It has also been reported that if Mr. Crow doesn't comply with the ban, he could be sentenced to up to five years in jail or face a fine of up to $200,000.
Steve Crow who is well known for his controversial Boobs on Bikes tours also said that the ban will not have a significant effect on any businesses in which he is involved.
Crow and his brother David own many clubrooms with plans for a $20 million residential and commercial development. However, there were some problems in their relationship with the club members and the pair is currently pursuing legal action against the club.
