The Kobo is now going to enter into the increasingly famous e-book market, and the most interesting thing about the new kobo e-book readers is its price. This offer is most worthwhile for those who cannot spend $260 or more on a gadget that seeks to replace the ever-portable paperback.
Selling for about a hundred bucks less than popular devices like Amazon's Kindle and Barnes & Noble's Nook, the Kobo is Borders' no-frills entrance into the increasingly popular e-book market. The Kobo is retailing at $149, which is set to release on June 17 that is Father's Day. It is very easy to figure out how to use it and there is not much to learn as there are very less features.
There's no wireless connectivity such as Wi-Fi or 3G, and there's no touch-screen capabilities. It also lacks an audio player, unlike the Kindle, Nook, and some Sony readers.
This Bluetooth enabled kobo can load books and news papers via USB cable connection to your PC. The 1-gigabyte Kobo is light, slim and powerful and has flexible plastic casing that feels more durable than other devices like the Sony models. The reading space is a plenty 3.5 inches wide by about 4.8 inches high. The entire device is somewhat smaller than a DVD case and just a bit heavier than one at 8 ounces. It is very suitable to carry around.
The only add on offer on Kobo is its pre-loaded books, mostly classics by Mark Twain and Shakespeare and other long-dead literary staples but its less cost fills up its loopholes.
