Google finds permanent home for playable ‘Pac-Man’ logoGoogle’s last week commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the classic arcade game Pac-Man has resulted in the Internet search giant’s decision to make a permanent home for the playable Pac-Man logo on its search site.

Google’s decision to make Pac-Man a permanent feature has largely resulted from the ‘overwhelming’ response that the Pac-Man “doodle” received from the avid users of the Google.

Though there have been tweets galore that making ‘free’ Pac-Man games available on Google will adversely affect office productivity, Google has decided to go ahead with the move.

According to the information forwarded on Computerworld, the playable Pac-Man “doodle”, which first appeared on Google’s main search page last Friday, became an instant hit with visitors to the Google site – with people practically lapping up the unique opportunity to play free Pac-Man.

In a recent blog post, Marissa Mayer, Google’s VP vice president of search products and user experience, said: “We've been overwhelmed -- but not surprised -- by the success of our 30th anniversary PAC-MAN doodle. Due to popular demand, we're making the game permanently available.”
