The Contact Energy has reported that its $100 million Tauhara One geothermal power plant situated near Taupo has been completed ahead of the schedule. The highly recognized energy generator and retailer is expected to invest $600 million in its generation business in addition to another $500 million to be invested in a peak power plant and underground gas storage field at Stratford.
However, the giant will have to wait for the inauguration and running of the peaking power plant. It’s looking forward to begin its operation by next month.
It said that it will not be able to compile the testing of its 200MW plant until October. It added that the $250 million Ahuroa underground gas storage field is to be completed by the end of the year.
We are in a new stage of energy manipulation. The peak oil expected to reach a potential level in the upcoming 5 years. A number of people in UK still use domestic heating in rural areas.
Additionally, people mange heat from the electrical devices will not produce as much heat as do the oil-heated counterparts.
Last year, UK energy regulatory group Ofgem had noted that the domestic energy bills in the UK are likely to surge by 60% by 2016.
