New Zealand Getting into Holiday Mood, Cheers up the Tourism IndustryNew Zealand Traveller Survey, released by the Tourism Industry Association New Zealand has concluded that the 40% of New Zealanders are planning to go on a vacation abroad in the coming six months. The survey also revealed that about 510,000 citizens will probably prefer a skiing trip.

The survey stated that with the revival of the economy more and more people will be going for overseas trips.

Colmar Brunton Mood of TIA said that the travel decisions have been ignited due to the recession retreat.

It has been found that 39% of New Zealanders will spend more on travel and trips as compared to the last winter spending.

Tim Cossar, TIA Chief Executive stated that ski fields and mountain communities will be prioritized by the travelers.

The popular autumn-winter holiday destinations most preferred have been found to be Wellington then Christchurch, followed by Auckland, Queenstown and Nelson.

In terms of countries, the most popular destination for the season was Australia, then United States, United Kingdom, Fiji and Rarotonga.

Also the survey unfolded that 83% adults in New Zealanders will be opting for an overnight trip in the approaching six months. 72% of citizens admitted that they will go on a holiday only if they get “good value flight and accommodation deal”.
