Continental Airlines is all prepared to pip Air New Zealand to long-range Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights out of Auckland when it unveils a route to Auckland from Houston, Texas next year.
Continental officials announced the New Zealand route today when they uncovered the remodeled terminal at Bush Intercontinental Airport, the Houston Chronicle posted.
The jet cherishing its nearly 15-hour voyage will operate its air service under the United Airlines name, assuming a planned Continental and United comes into effect.
The merger is revealed to give birth to world's largest airline, and senators will take closely ponder at what that would be at the consumer's end and the airline industry.
However, Air NZ is not expected to introduce its larger 787-9 planes until December 2013.
The flying time for the 11,900km trip from Houston to Auckland will be 14 hours to 14 hours, 45 minutes, depending on time of year. Currently, all America's non-stop services to New Zealand operate from west coast airports.
The airlines have been in the troubling waters for years because of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the global economic slowdown, midst other issues.
