Big Drop Seen in Teen Pregnancy Rate

teens pregnancyAs per a report that released this week, pregnancy rates amongst teens in Canada have dramatically plunged.

The report that has been released by Sex Information and Education Council of Canada was a 10-year study of teen pregnancies throughout the globe.

The research showed that Canada's teen pregnancy rate was plunging progressively every year between 1996 and 2006. In 1996, around 44 per cent of 1,000 women between the age of 15 and 19 were pregnant. Ten years afterwards, the number dropped and arrived at about 28 per cent.

Rinda Dean, Executive Director of the Island Pregnancy Centre, said she was positive to see the report.

Regarding seeing the decline in the rate, Dean said that this could possibly be due to more education in schools that are imparted, so as to encourage teen girls to be more focused towards achieving their goals, in terms of career.

Over the preceding years, the Pregnancy Centre has been trying to make noteworthy efforts to make sure Island teens are well educated regarding sexual activity.

They make regular visits, in order to give presentation in schools, colleges, churches and community groups.

Kids should give more attention towards building a good career and securing their future.
