To guarantee of job losses has been given over the proposed levy of the mining sector to grow under the super-profits tax. This had been announced by Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard and it may become a cause for unemployment.
In defense, Ms. Gillard said that the super profits tax will prove to be profitable for companies in the mining sector, and thus she pointed to the Treasury modeling. She added, "I'm not ruling out claims about job losses. They are being made as we speak. In terms of this tax causing job losses, this tax is not about causing job losses".
Ms. Gillard, also the Minster for Employment, should have, as a consequence to this tax, be able to guarantee that no Australian would lose their job. But she botched to do so. She admitted that she only wanted to tell the reality to the people, instead of getting into any categorical claim and counter claim.
But with this, she also ensured the positive growth and development of the mining sector.
