After heavily marketing direct flights to Wanaka from Christchurch and Wellington for the ski season, it is reported that Fly Direct Ltd. has collapsed even before it got off the ground.
As per the Companies office records, the Company has been placed in liquidation.
Confirming the reports, a message that reflects on the Company's website also advices liquidation.
Reports claim that Jeffrey James Kay of Ponsonby is the only listed member, who is also shown as the Company's only director and shareholder.
According to Businessday. co. nz, about 500 people who had signed up for the packages which were offered by the Company are left in vain.
The liquidation would be handled by Damien Grant of Waterstone Insolvency.
Confirming the news, Grant said that it was too early to say how the passenger pre-payments would be handled in terms of the liquidation.
