The wine industry's endeavors to enter the money-spinning US market are receiving a $1.2 million thrust in the right path from the Government.
Two record grape yields have left the wine industry battling with oversupply problems and some wine manufacturers have turned to the United States for new sales.
Last year, Nobilo Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was the first New Zealand wine that made it to the top varietal sales in the US, whilst Villa Maria recently inked a new $100m distribution agreement.
The United States is principally eye-catching for some wine producers who view the nation as fifty individual markets of opening.
These endeavors are getting a small increase from the National Government, which last night declared a variety of new proposals to support New Zealand wine across the world, together with the $1.2 million propel into the US market.
In the past year, the wine industry has broken the $1 billion in exports record and Economic Development Minister, Gerry Brownlee said that the Government was dedicated to assist the sector in twofolding that number by 2020.
He said that the US proposal was the first in a pack of moves to aid the industry in creating new markets and sustain its best branding in present ones.
