It seems that retailer Postie Plus has some secret strategy to fight recession, with the help of which it increased its fourth quarter sales 12.9 percent above levels of a year earlier to $34.9 million.
Along with it, the company also witnessed its group margins rising. The company's Managing Director said that the sales performance was robust, amidst the recession, and strong competition from competitors who were scrambling to increase sales at the expense of margin.
An improvement in the company's performance was visible in each of the four quarters during the financial year.
The company saw an increase of 7.3 percent in the third quarter, after bearing an 8.8 percent decline in first quarter sales compared to figures from a year earlier. It experienced a 2.3 percent fall in the second quarter.
It was specified by Mr. Boskell that the increases in sales and margins reflected the company's product range was what the market wanted.
He said: "The success of winter is attributable to amongst other things our new offering, more fashion, better fits and improved quality."
