On Monday, Hewlett Packard announced its ePrint platform and a new line of printers, especially built for the iPhone age – the printers will use unique e-mail addresses and the Google cloud to remotely print Web pages, files and documents.
The process of getting documents printed via the new HP Photosmart printers will simply require users to simply send a Web page or a document to an e-mail address linked to the printer or the all-in-one device. The process will not only enable the users to get the documents printed, but also to store them in the cloud, to be printed whenever required.
Noting that the new line of printers will give users an easy way “to print their content, anywhere, anytime,” said Vyomesh Joshi – the executive VP imaging and printing group of HP – said: “We're making that a reality today by giving people the power to print from any Web-connected device - smartphones, iPads, netbooks, and more - to any printer in our portfolio above $99.”
To hit the North American markets this month, the HP Photosmart e-All-in-One printers will be available in different models, with the base model costing $99.
In addition, by September, HP will likely announce the worldwide availability of its three more e-All-in-One printers, which will feature its top $299-priced touch-screen model, the HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One machine, which will give users the ability to fax, scan, and copy documents.
