During August, Auckland real estate Company Barfoot and Thompson witnessed a significant increase in activity, with the firm making 830 house sales.
This is six and a half percent more than in the previous month, and an impressive 65 percent increase on August last year.
Apart from this, even the average house price has hiked to just over $530,000, which is up 1.5 percent on a year ago; however, still slightly below the average price achieved in May.
The Auckland housing market is seeing the return of keen buyer interest, as per Managing director Peter Thompson, who, however, said that it is not a case of the market taking off - more a mood of quiet confidence!
