New Flights by Qantas-owned Jetstar

JetstarThe Qantas-owned Jetstar revealed that Melbourne-Singapore services would begin on December 16 and Auckland-Singapore flights on March 17 next year. Two wide-body Airbus A330-200 aircraft will be based in Singapore which will carry 303 passengers in a two-class cabin. Jetstar Chief Executive, Bruce Buchanan shared that the new flights would offer "an array of new, affordable travel options".

He said, “Connecting our three largest operations in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore strengthens each of these businesses and builds a solid foundation for future growth beyond Singapore to North Asia and Europe”.

The Company also planned, last month to start long-haul operations from Singapore to Australia, north Asia and Europe. The number of long-haul destinations in Jetstar's schedule will be raised to 12, which will include flights from Australia to Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and Honolulu.

Melbourne Airport Chief Executive, Chris Woodruff shared that it was a fantastic news for travelers and that the new service to Singapore would operate from Tullamarine. More seats will be available at affordable prices.

About 32 additional A380 super-jumbos were ordered, by Qantas, Singapore Airlines and Emirates, which serve the Melbourne-Singapore route.
