The project agreement cost for the new Cancer Centre to be built in Prince George, has been finalized. This centre is a vital part of the Northern Cancer Control Strategy. The centre would be constructed in Prince George on the site of the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia. The final cost agreement will be for $ 78.7 million, whereas, the fixed capital cost for the centre is $ 69.9 million. The centre will offer full services which are required for the cancer patients.
According to the report, the project of new cancer centre has three divisions; these divisions are the construction, the project management and insurance cost and the project risk value. The insurance cost is of $ 6.6 million.
The construction of this centre, which is spread in 5,000 square meters, will begin this summer. The construction for the centre is scheduled to be finished in September 2012.
The building for cancer treatment will also have Chemotherapy and the facility needs to be equipped with eight chairs and three stretchers. The same will also have the system for radiation therapy. Building will also include the space for general outpatient clinics. This centre will aim to attain leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold Certification.
The constructers will make most of the use of wooden products, which are produced in the area.
