Going by the conformed reports, the forthcoming Motorola Droid ‘Shadow’ smartphone – on Verizon Wireless - may feature a screen bigger than the earlier rumored 4.1-inch screen; and it is quite likely that the screen of the new Motorola handset may be almost as big as the 4.3-inch display of the recently- released HTC EVO 4G.
Reports, though not yet officially confirmed, also say that the Droid Shadow – which rumors say may be re-branded as the Motorola Droid Xtreme - will boast high-end features, including a FWVGA touchscreen positioned in a slender tablet shape, sans a physical keyboard.
As per the other ‘leaked’ specifications of the Droid Shadow, the handset will feature the 2.1 version of the Google Android OS; a 720 MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 3630 processor; Wi-Fi; 3G; Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.
The handset will have 8 GB of built-in storage capacity, bundled with an 8 GB microSD memory card; 8-megapixel camera that can record 720p video; and an HDMI video-out port offering 1080p support.
In addition, the Droid Shadow will also supposedly include a new version of MotoBlur – the Motorola software which features a universal inbox to bring together messages from several social-networking services, including Facebook and Twitter; as well as text messages from consumer and business email accounts.
