Graeme Samuel, who has had a diverse record of jobs in his career, is now the Chief of Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

Prior to this, he had been working with the AFL, then in business, health and arts, one by one. His last served as the Chairman of Opera Australia.

He finally got the opportunity to gratify his long - yearned desire to join public service, by becoming the Companion in the Order of Australia (AC).

In 1998, he had drifted to the private sector, earning loads of money.

"I made a conscious decision that I'd really made enough money to be able to live a life that I thought was satisfactory", he said.

He said that he wanted to become a part of the service sector and now he has been awarded the privilege.

He has a remarkable record of bringing enormous incomes to all the Companies he has worked in.

Serving the AFL, he brought the institution from a small position to the level of the richest sporting platforms.

But he said that by serving in the ACCC, he will be able to derive the real pleasure and achievement of his life.
