Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has recalled more drugs after they were said to have been showing major side-effects. Four additional lots of Benadryl, the medicine for allergy and Tylenol gels, for giving extra strength, have been taken back from the market.
The health care company said in its press release that it has failed to recall them in its earlier lot and so it was doing so now. J&J had gone for widespread recall on January 15 of its over-the -counter drugs.
It also said that the current step was a follow-up of its old plans wherein it had taken back 53 million bottles of its drugs. That batch included brands like Tylenol and Motrin, Rolaids and Benadryl and St. Joseph's Aspirin.
The current news has proved to act as a deterrent in the already tarnished image of J&J after its four recalls in one year. It is already facing Congressional and US FDA scrutiny.
J&J declined to comment on the latest development. This is crucial at a time when it is being questioned for its effectiveness in this area. Experts are saying that people have started to believe that something very serious is going on in the company.
