Bank of New Zealand has been able to win one of the nation's largest new patrons, taking on the authorization to offer banking services to the new Auckland Super-City.
Replacing eight cities and district councils, plus the Auckland Regional Council, the BNZ win, forms a serving banker for all local Government in the Auckland province for the initial time and is defined by BNZ as representing a multi-billion revenue stream.
BNZ provides services to the present local Government units to varying extents, as do the other major banks.
Anthony Healy, Director, BNZ partners said that the new Auckland Council is the major and most multifaceted corporate amalgamation in this country’s history.
Winning the banking agreement is an exceptional result for BNZ.
The accord comprised of a wide-ranging tender, assessment and selection procedure involving all other leading banks, BNZ said in a statement.
