The commercial counterpart of the BBC has pronounced that it has finally given a nod for the satellite provider Intelsat for its satellite and teleport services.
BBC World News can now cater to Asian and the Americans with this service.
The present plans of the Intelsat distribution service will provide services such as satellites, fibre and teleport services all throughout the regions that the BBC World Service will look forward to accessing.
The satellite shall utilize the left-over capacity in four satellites, the Intelsat 5 and Intelsat 8 satellites, to cater to the Asian market, on the other hand the Intelsat 9 and Galaxy 13 satellites will be rendering their service to American citizens, which are served by the teleports based in Georgia, California and Hawaii.
This looks to be an interesting deal for the BBC which wishes to serve world service at wider locations.
