IBM has asserted that it will soon include its Power-7 line of mid-ranged servers in future trade-in deals.
IBM's trade-in deal permits a user to exchange their old servers and CPUs for new ones at a discounted rate. And when the above offer merged with Power-7 range, shall seek to boost the sale of server line which was launched in February.
The trade-in deal now includes a new range of Power 750, 770, and 780 servers.
IBM on the other hand proffers a list of trade-in prices the company is willing to pay for older machines, based on the configuration of the device the customer is planning to buy using the trade-in scheme which seems to be win-win situation for both the parties.
In fact the customers can reap out for discount when they purchase new machines that are eligible for the trade-in scheme.
Meanwhile IBM refuses to divulge any details of prices of the servers and it is still not known how they will be incorporated into the trade-in scheme.
