HealthVault, the web-based personal health information storage service from Microsoft has been made available to users in the UK.
It is through this service the users can now store self and their family's health information in a secure Microsoft cloud-based storage system.
Apart from setting up own accounts one can also put in health and wellness information on the site which can be shared by healthcare providers, pharmacies and fitness/sports coaches to provide advice.
The officials state that the information on the same can punched in manually or via a healthcare device like blood pressure monitor or pedometer.
Senior Director of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Microsoft UK, John Coulthard, stated: "Not only does HealthVault put users in charge of their own health data, but it also offers huge opportunities for organisations in the healthcare ecosystem to build applications and services that help people engage in their health and wellness."
Apart from offering the health services it offers an enhanced security and privacy features that allow users to determine who can view their personal health data, and who can't. Aiming to curb the rates of ailments this service has come up.
