The actor Steve Carell has declared that he will leave the US version of the show 'The Office' with the end of its season 2010-2011.
He has said that it will be his last season with "The Office" at the Los Angeles premiere of his new animated film named "Despicable Me".
The 47 years old actor has told that it is the last year of his contract and he wants to honor his contract and he is quitting the show.
The actor plays a role of Michael Scott, an egotistical office manager in the US version of The Office.
The producers of the show, NBC network has not yet commented on his departure but as per sources, they are considering the show to run without Steve Carell. Carell has been a part of the show "The Office" since NBC network has launched the program.
It was launched in the year 2005.
This comedy series was hugely popular among the viewers. Carell has also been awarded with a Golden Globe for his nice work in this show in the year 2006.
