Receivers Appointed To Supervise Company Owning Westin HotelNow, receivers are moving to control the Company, which supervises the Westin Hotel complex in Auckland. There was a set agreement to be fulfilled with the creditors, and the Lighter Quay Hotel Management was unsuccessful to do so, thus, resulting in receiverships.

The hotel has been confirmed to the people to stay open, by KordaMentha, which has been appointed as the receiver. The receivers are Michael Stiassny and Brendon Gibson, and they have announced an early meeting with the hotel operator and representatives of the hotel room owners.

Receiver Michael Stiassny said, "Since opening in 2007 to much acclaim, the Westin Hotel has remained popular with locals as well as other domestic and international guests. It is fully booked for the Rugby World Cup next year. We want to reassure investors, the hotel operator, staff, suppliers and guests to the Westin Ligher Quay that it is our intention for the hotel to continue to operate as usual".

It has been asserted that no change will be made otherwise in operating the hotels, and the staff will remain the same as before. Also, the forward bookings will remain as it is. The complaint was about the Company, including the room holders, who leashed the hotel rooms to the Company.
