Motorola’s full page ad, which came up in one of the recent editions of New York Times, showed a picture of the Droid X – the latest Droid smartphone that Motorola and Verizon introduced a day before the launch of the Apple iPhone; and which hits the markets July 15 – accompanied by little labels that detailed all of the notable features of the handset.
The features that the as highlighted include 8-megapixel camera; the 1GHz processor; the Android 2.2 ‘Froyo’ version; HD video capture; Swype; and the 3G mobile hotspot with support for five devices.
In addition, some of the other compelling features that the Droid X boasts of include a 4.3-inch screen; 24GB built-in storage, expandable up to 40GB; an on-screen keyboard; and Adobe Systems’ Flash software.
Along with highlighting the features of the Droid X, the Motorola ad also took a dig at the design of the iPhone 4, particularly emphasizing the antenna issue that has already become quite an eye-sore for Apple, with the company yet to announce that the problem will be rectified in the next manufacturing lot of the handset.
