Officials of Toyota Motors said on Friday that the Company will file for recall of eights models on Monday, including luxury Lexus cars.
The recall will be filed due to a defect in engine that could cause the cars to stop while in motion, upsetting about 90,000 units in Japan.
The recall, which the top automaker of Japan will file with the transport, land, Infrastructure and Tourism Ministry, will also include the top most LS460 sedan and other Lexus models which are the LS600hL, LS600h, GS460 GS350, GS450h and IS350 along with the Toyota Crown.
The most recent progress could deal yet another blow to the company's attempts to redeem its status for superior vehicles through stern quality, as there has been massive recalls of its cars since last fall.
Customers of Toyota will be informed by phone or direct mail via dealers, about the site where the repairing work will take place.
According to the officials, the main defect is in the valve spring, which creates a strange noise, makes idling unbalanced and in the worst case it stops the engine while the car is in motion.
No reports of accidents have been reported so far, due to this defect of valve spring.
