HP has taken over Palm and this acquisition has made HP the owner of Palm’s intellectual property including WebOS.
Just after the acquisition, HP declared its plans to purchase the range of mobile devices of WebOS platform. The WebOS tablet would be included in this.
HP has been highlighting the advantages of the tablets over Apple iPad. HP is intending to use WebOS as the base for tablets, mobile computing devices and smartphones.
Experts believe that HP tablet is being expected to be with better features than Apple iPad. HP WebOS is predicted to include more features, which are not available in iPad.
It is well known that Microsoft and HP are in good terms. This relationship is raising the expectations of WebOS integrations with Microsoft server and desktop applications. WebOS after these added features may turn out to be as the mobile OS that, windows phone 7 should be.
On the other hand, Windows Phone 7 may meet the expectations of users, however the delays in the releasing has put the phone behind in the list.
Though, Palm was not in a good position, but its WebOS is a better option, which is receiving appraisals from industry experts.
