World’s pioneering automobile giant, Toyota Motor Corp., has planned the recall of more than 270,000 units of its Lexus model in Japan and the US, as the carmaker fears a fault in the valve components of the vehicles which can obstruct the smooth running of the vehicle.
Toyota will update the lawmakers in US and the Transport Ministry in Japan, next week, told Ririko Takeuchi, a spokeswoman.
The models sold inn years 2006, 2007 and 2008, will be recalled. The carmaker is putting in efforts to regain its lost euphoria in the market, recalling as many as 8 million vehicles, worldwide.
In April, Toyota had considered the recall of nearly 13,000 Lexus GX 460 models following the complaints registered by the punters regarding the safety threat in driving.
Masatoshi Nishimoto, a Tokyo-based analyst at consulting company IHS Automotive, said that the current recall will turn down the market value of the Company all the more, at least in US.
“While sales are rising as the market recovers from the recession, they are already losing share to U. S. and other Asian carmakers”, he added.
In June, its stocks surged by nearly 6.8% on an annual average.
