Russian Cargo Ship Docked Successfully With ISS

Russian Cargo Ship Docked Successfully With ISSAfter two days of a failed attempt, Russian Cargo Ship (an unmanned ship) has finally landed successfully with International Space Station. It was done under the supervision of experts in Moscow and the ISS team.

Due to the landing system failure on Friday, the first attempt was not possible because a radio link was aborted with the ISS about 25 minutes before the planned docking. It was a rare mishap in the history of space station’s program.

As per the officials of ISS, the second attempt was completed without any hindrance, as they managed to avoid the radio signal problems that forced them to abandon last week's docking.

The cargo vessel, which launched on 30 June, is carrying 2.6 tons of cargo for the ISS crew, which currently comprises three Russians and three Americans. It is carrying food, fuel and other supplies for them. It was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

"At 20:17 pm Moscow time (16H17 GMT), the 'Progress M-06M' docked at the 'Star' module of the ISS", the Russian Mission Control Centre said in an Internet statement.

The center told that it is the 40th Russian cargo vessel to dock at the station.
