App Store Apps Disappear from Site

AppsIn the wake of complaints of hacking coming in from the users of Apple’s web users regarding the possible hacking of the site, as many  as 40 of the apps provided at the App Store have been reportedly removed.

These 40 highest-selling apps have been reported to have gone off the site since the weekend, with the developers fearing the possibility of hacking of the site.

Developer Thuat Nguyen said that 40 of the 50 slots of the most widely accepted apps have been removed from Books category.

A majority of these apps were rated as top-ranked, in spite of the fact that there were lesser users associated.

Developer Alexandru Brie, posted a message on his blog saying that “Self Help Classics”, the app he had developed, had dropped off the list of top 50 paid book applications after enjoying a position in top 20 for a year and half.

"I had hoped things would get back to normal thinking that, eventually, these weird apps would just go out of fashion", wrote Brie.

He added that the sales of the apps created by a number of developers went down after their respective apps were moved away from the list of top 40.
