Dementia Diagnosis Leads to ‘Anger, Depression, Fear’The results of a survey have depicted that anger, depression and fear are the symptoms of dementia. It was conducted by YouGov and was published on Monday, as this is the Dementia Awareness Week.

The survey was conducted by the Alzheimer's Society and it states that around one third people would not be aware of the means to get knowledge or support if they are diagnosed with the disease.

It also revealed that one in three people over the age of 60 years can expect to lose his life due to Alzheimer's or some other form of dementia. The researchers questioned more than 2,000 adults throughout the country.

The results depicted that 74% of people would be afraid when they come to know that they are suffering from dementia. It states that 55% of the people would be depressed on being diagnosed with the disease while 35% would get angry.

About 14%of the people who were surveyed said that they would want support but would have nobody to ask for help.

More than one fourth of the respondents said that they would feel lonely after being diagnosed by the disease and one-tenth disclosed that they would be feeling shame.
