Beset Toyota Begins Global Recall for Replacing Engine Components in Defected VehiclesToyota began a worldwide recall over engine flaws in its Lexus and Crown models, moving on Monday, to fix almost 92,000 vehicles in Japan that has made the automaker overwhelmed with quality troubles.

Toyota Motor Corp. had said on Friday that 270,000 vehicles globally would be called back to substitute valve springs, critical engine parts, which are defected in the recalled cars and could make them stop while in action.

The globe's largest automaker notified the Japanese Government of the recall on Monday, and Toyota Spokesman, Paul Nolasco, said that foreign recalls would come soon.

The sum comprises 138,000 vehicles in the U. S., 91,903 in Japan, 15,000 in Europe, 10,000 in the Middle East, 6,000 in China, 4,000 in Canada, and 8,000 in other areas.

Nolasco said in a statement, "We apologize for inconveniencing our customers. We hope to fix the problem soon".

Toyota has got around 200 complaints, but no mishaps caused by the faults, have been accounted, so far. Toyota said that it is substituting the valve spring in the withdrawn vehicles; manufactured between July 2005 and August
2008, Lexus models GS350, GS450h, GS460, IS350, LS460, LS600h, LS600hL and Crown models. However, 2009 and 2010 car models remain unaffected.
