A study has claimed that the absence of exercising habits is not responsible for obesity in kids.
The study, which continued over 11 years, analyzed as many as 200 children in Plymouth. It found that the case is reverse, i. e. excessive weight gain arouses indolence in children.
The report, appearing in the Archives of Disease in Childhood, said that in order to tame the onset of obesity in children, there is a need to pay more attention to their eating habits than on their exercising schedule.
The findings of the study have been criticized by a number of researchers, who hold an alternate opinion.
The study has claimed that, as such, there is no considerable connection between physical movement and fats in the body. The study doesn’t claim that exercising is not at all helpful in children; however, it considers exercising as a negligible controller of obesity.
The EarlyBird Diabetes Study researchers assessed more than 200 capital schoolchildren.
They didn’t find any signs proving that more physical activity can reduce weight, but they confirmed that children putting on weight get less active.
“Moderate and physical activity only occupies in boys a little less than an hour a day and in girls about 45 minutes”, said the researchers.
